At present, India's home softwares market is growing rapidly. According to RedSeer, an Indian consultancy, the volume of India's home softwares market has grown from $20 billion in 2015 to $28 billion in 2018, and will accelerate in the next few years to reach $44 billion in 2022.

Furniture occupies the dominant position in the soft-fitting market. In 2015, the sales of furniture and soft wares except furniture accounted for 65% and 35% respectively. In 2018, the sales of furniture and soft wares accounted for 60% and 40% respectively. Furniture retail sales amounted to 16.8 billion US dollars, and the retail sales of soft wares except furniture amounted to 11.2 billion US dollars. Besides furniture, the increase in the proportion of soft-fitting sales reflects the diversification trend of consumers when they buy home soft-fitting products.

According to specific categories, in the retail sales of Indian furniture in 2018, beds and mattresses accounted for 30%, cabinets accounted for 24%, sofas accounted for 19%, and other furniture accounted for 27%.

The demand for outdoor chairs has increased dramatically in India's outdoor furniture sales. Most of these outdoor chairs are imported from China.
